Frequently Asked Questions

What is so good about drinking waterplus?
We are all aware of the tremendous importance of staying well hydrated, but some people may struggle to drink the 8 glasses of water required by the body each day1. Research indicates that people will voluntarily drink more fluid when it is slightly flavoured2. Hence, the great taste of waterplus provides incentive to keep your fluid levels topped up.

How is waterplus different from sports drinks?
Traditionally sports drinks have aimed to deliver two things: fluid for hydration and energy for activity. While keeping well hydrated is of great importance, the issue of extra energy might not be as attractive as it first sounds. You see, another word for 'energy' is 'calories', and when we consume more calories than our body burns up, they get stored as fat. If you are an athlete participating in endurance exercise then extra energy might be what you need, but if you are recreational exerciser who keeps active to stay in shape then you probably don't want the extra calories.

With no added sugar, waterplus contains 2 calories per bottle, making it an ideal solution for helping you to feel great.

When is the best time to drink waterplus?
waterplus has been designed to help meet the needs of active people. One of those needs is to stay well hydrated throughout the day. For this reason, anytime is a good time to drink waterplus. As it has few calories, waterplus can be consumed even when you are not exercising.

How much fluid should I drink each day?
Scientists have learned that most people lose about two and a half litres of fluid per day6. To stay hydrated we need to replace all that fluid which is lost. Some fluid is gained from foods we eat, but consuming about 8 glasses of fluid each day can help ensure optimal hydration. Obviously in hot conditions and at times when you are really active you need to further increase your fluid intake. It is also important, to watch drinks with caffeine in them as caffeine is a diuretic which can cause our bodies to lose more fluid. A good measure for adequate hydration is urine colour. The lighter the colour, the better hydrated you are.

Does waterplus contain caffeine like other energy drinks?
No. waterplus is not an energy drink and therefore does not contain the caffeine commonly found in those types of drinks.
